In the future, electric cars will become active participants in a decentralized energy system. To achieve this, we are making all charging and discharging processes traceable down to the specific facility.
Together with corporate partners and start-ups, we developed a distributed ledger-based billing infrastructure for electric vehicle charging at the Digital Hub Mobility. We use hardware-secured digital identities and a blockchain infrastructure for this purpose. This enables cross-system, unique, and tamper-proof accounting of charging processes, including the labeling of locally generated solar power. This facilitates the integration of e-mobility into the electricity market and simplifies sustainability reporting for fleet managers.

The solution
Hardware-based labeling of locally generated solar power
Our distributed-ledger based audit infrastructure in combination with the SAP E-Mobility Solution provides the opportunity to account for trading the locally generated electricity between building and electric vehicles with respect to price and CO2-emissions. The necessary tamper-proof connection of the physical and digital world is based on Infineon's Secure Elements public-key infrastructure. In combination with the open source stack of Energy Web and bloxmove, the stakeholders involved are equipped with decentralized identities. All billing-relevant key figures of the charging processes, including the tamper-proof proof of origin of the electricity, are recorded on the Energy Web Chain. In order to incentivize drivers to use the green electricity offer, this is displayed in the app of the charge point operator ChargeX and made traceable in the charging diary of the app from TRONITY, including CO2 balancing for all past charging processes.

citizen mobility: From the Idea to a Prototype in 6 Months
This project is part of our citizen mobility format, which aimes at companies and startups in the mobility sector. Given the changes in the mobility industry, cross-company and cross-sector partnerships are becoming increasingly important. However, for many of our customers, establishing such partnerships is time-consuming, complex to manage, and difficult to keep on track for success.
Our solutions:
- A neutral platform for fast-starting collaborative projects and managing stakeholder interests.
- Domain-specific expertise and effective project management
- Fast, collaborative prototyping to create, test and learn at a rapid pace
- Partners include enterprises, startups, academia and cities
The result:
- Long-term relationships with other project partners
- Expert knowledge of relevant technologies and new business opportunities
- Newly developed prototypes and concepts for further exploration
- High visibility through joint networking events and press coverage
