Sustainable mobility in Munich – the gap between aspiration and reality

Munich aims to become climate-neutral by 2035, including in the transport sector. Three out of four journeys are currently made on foot, by bike, or by public transport, and the number of electric cars is increasing. The difficult part comes now.

Neither the city nor the business community can achieve this alone: the city creates the framework conditions, while companies and start-ups develop the vehicles, solutions, and business models. Implementation will only succeed through collaboration between the two.

What measures are needed to make sustainable mobility part of everyday life? The city, the business community and start-ups are discussing this, covering topics such as charging infrastructure, autonomous driving, new mobility services, the future of parking, and projects already underway in Munich.

On the panel:

  • Gudrun Lux, City Councillor for the State Capital of Munich (Die Grünen – Rosa Liste) & Member of the Mobility Committee
  • Frank Hansen, Lead Strategist for Sustainable Mobility, BMW Group
  • Dr Bernhard Kalkbrenner (moderator), Director, UnternehmerTUM Mobility

Following the keynote speech and panel discussion, there will be an opportunity to continue the conversation over drinks and finger food. Do come along and let's discuss solutions together!
